ULB Websites

Urban Local Bodies are expected to keep in public domain all the information about municipal services delivered, tenders, financial information, Council and municipal staff details, forms, information under RTI Act etc. in public domain. As there was no system to make this information readily available to the public the Government of Karnataka, as part of its urban reforms initiatives, has introduced the ULB websites. This will host all the information of ULB.

Objectives:

To create website for every city for providing:

  • Basic Information about the city to the citizens
  • Information on City Finances
  • Details of elected representatives of the ULB
  • Details of Municipal staff
  • Sharing of useful forms with the citizen
  • A gateway to the PGR, PTIS, Birth & Death and other applications

Approach

  • Uniform domain names were registered for individual ULB
  • Website templates were designed and given to ULBs for filling up and updating the data with the help of e-governments foundation (NGO)
  • Senior and junior programmers were appointed to continuously update and maintain the data on website
  • Hosted on a central server maintained by municipal reforms cell
  • Developed training Modules and trained ULB staff

Expected outputs

  • Availability of upto date information of the ULB to the citizens
  • Registration of online complaints through the website
  • Web site to work as a gateway for all municipal applications
